Among key statistics: Malaria globally wipes out more victims annually than the population of Philadelphia, while anti-malarials and treatment run only $2 a person.

I can't agree more. Having been to parts of Africa where Malaria is a factor in everyday life -- something you think about the way you lock your doors at night here -- I found this a good reminder of how poorly we've addressed basic humanitarian needs around the world.
